Island Winery Information: Island Winery was started by Loren and Georgene Mortimer. Dr. Georgene Mortimer is a professional winemaker and has been making award - winning wines for years. She serves as a technical consultant for several wineries and also co-owns Westfall Winery in Montague, New Jersey with her husband Loren. Loren & Georgene fell in love with Hilton Head Island and have been coming here for years. They finally settled here and brought their passion for fine wines along with them.
