We tried Aunt Chiladas after reading such great reviews and seeing the place packed all the time. We were a little disappointed. The food was ok.....not great, but not bad! The place itself was somewhat run-down. We enjoyed our meal there, but it is unlikely that we would go back with so many great restaurants from which to choose!

Good Fajitas, Atmosphere Lacking 9/2/2007

Our group enjoyed our visit from a food standpoint. Three had fajitas, I had the soft tacos. The chips and salsa appetizer was okay, but the salsa was runny. Our meals were tasty and the food was plentiful. However, the building is in need of some repairs and definitely needed some thorough cleaning. The potholders on the fajita pans were falling apart and the bathrooms were pretty gross. Wait staff was pleasant.

We had heard about Aunt Chiladas from people in our hometown so on this visit we decided to finally try it. I'm glad we did and we will be back. The food is good and the drinks are great. Try their Peach Margarita. Worth a visit.

Very laid back Island bar and restaurant. We love any of their sizzling fajitas and the portions are large. The happy hour is fun with the Dollar coins back and we like the peel and eat shrimp and Mexican Pizzas for $2. (or maybe $3 now, I forget) Their servers also seem happy to be there, which always helps for a good experience.

We really really love mexican food, but were very dissapointed with this restaurant. The happy hour deals were great, shrimp and wings for a couple of bucks and a silver dollar back on each beer. BUT, the entrees were not that great. My server suggested the seafood enchilada and it was AWFUL. It came completely covered in american cheese and the crab had a tuna fish consistency. I was so dissapointed.

I "discovered" Aunt Chilada's on a trip to Hilton Head about 5 years ago. It has the best Mexican food on the island. In addition the bar is great and the portions are just out of control. Be prepared to eat! There are some interesting menu items, like the Burrito with Spaghetti. They also serve Italian and American food as well.

I always eat at Aunt Chiladas when I visit Hilton Head. They have a good selection of Mexican food favorites and the prices are reasonable for the Island. Good margaritas are a plus.
