worst service 4/27/2008

The service was the worse that I've had from an establishment of that quality. Not only did we get our wine after the salad but it was not chilled properly. Our dinners were just put on the table before we had a chance to finish our salads. One of which was the wrong diner. We did not enjoy the whole experience. Instead of a leisurely dinner we felt rushed . I and family members have worked in the hospitality field for many years and was appalled with the quality of service.

We had a group take a trip to Hilton Head recently to celebrate a good friends bachelor party. Our group made reservations at the restaurant over a month ahead of time for 9 p.m. Unfortunately we didnt get seated to after 10. I wasnt very impressed with the food after the wait. Not trying to throw the restaurant completely under the bus, but it wasnt a very good experience from the start. The food was okay but nothing write home about when you consider the price. Again, I dont normally complain, Im just brutally honest.

We spent New Years Eves at this restaurant. We did not have a reservation, but they offered to accommodate us at the bar. We enjoyed watching the staff in the open kitchen work so efficiently in the small space that they had. We had the crab cakes and lobster tail for appetizer. Crab cakes were out of this world, the lobster tail Chile sauce was a tad over powering, but still great. I have to tell you, you have to have the Fried Goat Cheese Salad. I have been craving this salad for days since we have had this. It was amazing. I was absolutely stuffed and my husband ordered the tuna steak rare. First time we got it it was over powering so bad in seasoning, due it only being cooked rare, we sent it back, no problem and they got him another one within minutes. It was out of this world. I did follow my meal up with Godiva Chocolate Soufflé, the chocolate lovers dream. It was wonderful. I would love to eat there again and hope to if we ever go back to Hilton Head.

INCREDIBLE! 7/14/2006

Food, Service and Decor was Outstanding! The bread was served with macadamia nut, honey butter - like having dessert on your bread. The food was phenomenal, presentation beautiful. Extensive wine list & their own wine room. I had the Hawaiian big eye tuna & my husband had the Bento Box which had a crab cake, lobster rangoon, tempura shrimp & other stuff just to give you an idea of the style of food. Then we had to have dessert - we had creme brulee - because they have their own pastry chef on site. The place is only 3 months old and their doing an excellent job. We've eaten at many fine NYC restaurants and this could certainly hold it's own with them. There is a write up in this month's HHI Restaurant guide and Aqua is a collaboration of a few different people that come from different restaurants here, one of which was Charley's Crab. This restaurant is a must go!
